Dividend. Auckland, Docember 8. • At the annual meeting of the Northern B Hit and Shoemaking Manufacturing Company held to-day a dividend of 7 per cent was declared, Body Found. A Peculiar Case. "Wellington, December 8. At the Fduoation Board to-day a rather peculiar case waa considered. The Kalwalwai School Committee disapproving of the action of the Board m retaining the master of the oohool until Christmas, after notice given him tv retire had expired, closed the school, refusing to allow the maßter to have charge. The Board instructed the Chairman to institute legal proceeding if the Committee refuse to hand over the key to the Board.
Drownefl. - Chrisxohukoh, Dcember 8 The body of John Rogers, laborer, was found m the Avon, near Stanmore biidge, this morning. No marks of violence. The deceased was somewhat addicted to drink and has bean missing slnoe Saturday. -
