A PIANO MUFFLER
The "Behv Piano Mtfil-r" Is the latest Yankee idea. The great advantage of this patent is that It affords a means of doing away m*h a universal nuisance — namely, the annoyance whioh all suffer from who have to listen to continuous piano practice. The "M.fflar," aptly named, io • very simple contrivance, and consists merely of a atrip of felt being thrown against the strings by pulling out • small knob at the right hand ef the keyboard. In many European oltles legal Measures have been proposed to restrict to aome extent piano praotice, and It has remained for a firm of Amerioan pianoforte makers to bring forward a practloal remedy for the evil. The " Muffler " hia an advantage over the dumb pianos, as the person playing on an Instrument with It attached, la able personally to hear the ■oond of tbe notes wlthoat ln the least disturbing any other Inmate of tbe house. It alao prevents hammerfelt from being worn too much, and Is, therefore, m this rfcspeot alone, a great saving to the lait-ument.
