♦ Wellington, October 3J, A meeting of mnnloipal delegates was held at the Council Chambers this morning. s Present — Messrs MacGregor, Akaroa ; Goldie, Auckland ; Saaly, A&h burton; McKenzie, Balolutha; Halbert, Christ church ; Leary Dunedin ; Gaham, Glsborne j TJdy, Grey town ; Tanner, Hastings ; J. McKenzie, Hawkes Bay ; Westwade, Hokittka ; Moore, Kaiapoi ; Joyoe, Lyttelton ; Ormond, Napier ; Allan, North-ent Valley ; J. McKenze, Falmeraton ; Mobs, Parnell ; Mills, Port Chalmers ; Boss, Boslyn ; Taylor, Syden- , ham ; Xelly, Tauranva ; Fraser, Thames ; and the Mayor of Wellington. The lastnamed was elected chairman. It was decided to establish a Municipal Association for New Zaoland, bat on the motion to appoint a Committee to draw up rules for its guidance, the expedience of making the Aasoc'ation permanent was called into question, and it was determined to go on with the business first, and then discuss this point afterwards. The meeting then adjourned till to-morrow. Willingtof, November 1. j At the Municipal Conference this morning a Committee was appointed to consider the desirableness of having the maintenance of fire brigades and plent for the suppression of fire put on a more satisfactory basis than at present. A question of making an amendment m the Hospital and Charitable Institution Act In the direction of electing a General Board to iaise funds for Hospital and Charitable Aid of the appointment of Boards of Management, responsible to the General Board, was relegated to a Com - , mittee. A suggestion, made by the Auckland City Council, that fines under Licensing and Polica Offences Act rhould be made payable to the Borough funds was agreed to.
