SHEEP.
The number of exhibits In sheep fell far below those of last year, and not a single merino was entered. Tbe recent severe weather, to some extent, account for this, but we also understand that some of our former largest exhibitors are saving their animals for the. Metropolitan Show. The sheep that were en to red wort., however, of an excellent stamp, and the exhibition, as far as It went, was a very good ono. In English Lelreotera Mr Bonnlfant carried all before him, and In Hampshire Downs Mr Max Frledlander has oomo to the front. Both theßQ breeders wore represented by grand peDs, and It behoves other local broedors to look to their laurels or they will bo entirely distanced. In Lin coins, m the class, for the best ram above 18 months old,. Mr J. Lloyd was awarded a firßt for a large woll-framed animal, the judges deemmg it worthy of this honor, though none other was shown •against it In the class for rams under 18 months old, Mr M. Friedlander took first prize, Mr Jas. Stringfollow securing second and highly commended tickets, with pens of very nice animate. • The winner was very much admired, the regularity of locks being very noticeable. The sheep exhibited by Mr Bonifant left but little to be desired, and they reflected the utmost credit on him as a breeder. Iv Southdowne Messrs Jeff wero the only exhibitors, and only three animals were Bhown, these being'good specimens of tho type. Mr M. Friedlander monopolised tho _ classes m Hampshire Downs, und carried off firßt honors m each case. For Shropshire Downs Mr Grigg secured two firsts for rams, and Messrs Upton and Riißsell for ewes.
