SALE OF GOVERNMENT SECTIONS, SOUTH RAKAIA.
Cn Monday Mr John Bakor, Commissioner of Crown Lands, held a sale of Rakaia township sections m the 1 own Hall, and two forfeited sections m the , village Bettlement. The bidding waa dull, not more than the upset price being given m any case. The results of Bale were as follows : — Town Sections, | acre 'each. No. 436— M. Hardy-£7 10a Od „ 438 -A. M. Oxley— £7 10a Od „ 628— J. M. Broadbent -£7 lOs Od „ 629— do. do. — £7 10s Od „ 631— do. do. — £7 10a Od „ 633— do. do. -£7 10a0d 439 and 620 to 625 inclusive did not meet with purchasers. Section 8, block 2, 5 acres, village settlement, G. Clarke, £61 10a Od. Section 10, block 2, 5 acres, village Bettlement, D. Murphy, £52 Os Od. On these sections the upset price was £10 per acre on the usual deferred payment system, and the cash value of improvements on No. 8 £11 10s Od, and on No. IQ,£2.
