POLITICAL NEWS.
Wellington, June 9. Matters are moving quietly towards an end. The afternoon was spent m committee on the West Coast Settlement Bill, and m debating the seoond reading of the South Island Native Beserves Bill, which was opposed by the Maori members, but was carried on a division by 30 to 20. Should both these Bills be disposed of this evening there will only remain the Mining Aot Amendment Bill to be dealt with, and the third reading of the Pablio Revenues Bill, which, on this oooasion, takes the plaoe of the usual Appropriation It now seems probable that all business will be finished to-morrow, and if bo the prorogation will take plaoe on Friday. { A farewell dinner of Ministerial supporters oomes off to-morrow evening. Several memberß have already left ior home, and the majority of the Southern members will most likely leave by Friday's steamer.
