Waitahuna, Cartorton, Bruce, Nelson ! City, Waikari, and Ponsonby Corps each receive £15. Dunedin City Guards, Hobson, Napier, Auckland City Guards, Victoria, Blenheim, Oamaru, and Wanganui Rifles £10 each North Dunedin, Wellington City, Thames, Bangers, Dunedin City Guards, ' Airow and Cromwell Rifles, £7 each. ! "Ternuka, Newton, Waikouaiti, and East Taieri Corps are entitled to £5 each. At first it was thought the Ashburton Rifles had won third prize for the Canterbury district, only. Wo now find they come third for the wholo colony. This is very oreditablo, and we hope the company will keep up its good shooting form (although it is doing so under groat disadvantage), and secure a still better position next year. As will be fpund per the return the North Canterbury Companies are conspicuous by their absence.
