More Fires. Auckland, May 25 A fire last nipht destroyed three houses and one shop m Jameson Street, Freeman's Bay, belonging to T. Bellington InsuraDoes :— Building £775 m the Sun Office ; Blith's furniture, £175 m the Norwich Union; Mackay's stock, £50 m the Imperial. Collins and Wall's effects were uninsured. Wreck of the Sir Donald. Gisbobne, May 25. The launch Shark went to the scene of the wreck of the Sir Donald yesterday and recovered the mast and rigging. Lashed to tho mast was the nose of the boat, bo the crew had not time to launch the boat when the disaster occurred. No bodies have yet been recovered. The rest of the hull 'of the vessel has not been found. Two Barques m Collision. Wellington, May 24. Arrived yesterday eveninpr, Port Sonachin (?), barque, Watt, 113 days from London ; qlbo West Riding, barque, Thomae, 112 days fmm Liverpool. Both pasßages were uneventful. While the vessels were beating into harbor m charge of pilots they came into collision, but as far us can be ascertained neither have sustained injury. The matter is being enquired into. Dismissed. At the R.M. Court to-day Rogers was brought on remand, charged with conspiring to defraud by means of, a sweep. No evidence waa offered and" the case was diatnlißed. Sir G. Grey. Dunedin, May 25. The " Timos " Btates that a number of eleotors of Dunedin East waited m Sir G. Grey yesterday and asked him to etand for that constituency at the general election, but he declined for the cake of his Auckland constituency.
