AUCTIONEER'S REPORT.

Mr Peter Williams (for Fiiedlander Bros) reports for the week ending Tuesday, the 17th May, 1887 :— Oq Thareday, 12th mat, we held a clearing sale of timber at the yards of Messrs McOallam and Co,, and with the exception of one or two lines quitted all the timber submitted, at from a business point of view satisfactory prices, bnt taking into consideration the fact that it costs 6a 3d for railage we doubt whether the prices were satisfactory to the vendors. We also sold privately Mr W. W. White's timber m one lino to Messrs Taoker and Restell, to tbe r satisfaction of the vendor. On Friday, the 13th Inat, we held a charing sale at Mr G. Tilson's farm at Ealing. The attendance was not large, and the stock was la very poor condit'on and[a?ed; not withstanding thia very satisfactory prices were obtained. Aged draught horses from £L 10s to £9 ; dray, £9 ; double furrow ploughs, £4 to £4 10j ; horse power and oh6 Sautter, £15 ; set harrows, £3 ; harness at satisfactory prices. On Saturday, the 14th inst, we held our weekly sale of horses at our East Street Horse B«ziar, but owing to the state of the weather few ontries vrere . made. A few hacks ohangod hands at from £7 to £10. We hero beg to call the attention of buyers to oar advertisement, for uext Saturday. The horses are a grand lot, and ehould attract the attention of those In want of such stock. ; Previous, to the sale of horses, we sold furniture and sundry lots of goods at satisfactory prices. Prime mutton, l£d per 1b ; pork, 2£i per lb j bacon, 3d ; hams, 4d j potatoes', 3a 3d to 63 3d per bag ; onions, Id per lb ; .crushed oats, 4s 3d per bag. At the Tiowald Yards on Tuesday, the 17th Inst, the entrtes were very small, Abont 2300 sheep, 20 head of oattle, and about 50 pigs came forward. The demand for fat cattle was nob very great, values being much about the same as last week. Fat crossbred owos, 4s 6d to 53 ; merino wethers 5j 4d ; fat oronsbred wethers 7s 6 1 ; 2-tooth croeßbreds fat 7s ; crossbred lambs 3s Id to 3a lid ; mixed oroesbred ewes m lamb 33 3d ; raged crossbred ewes 2* 8d to 'di 7d ; 2, 4 and 6-tooth orosabrod mixed, 63 Id ; 2«tooth crossbred wethers sj' sd. The demand for good r young orosabreds is increasing. There was a good demand for bacon pig', all submitted were Bold equal to 2£d to 31 per lb ; 2 pedigree boars weaneis fetohed 19 j each.
