Sheep. — The' very large number of fat sheep p naed were faced by buyers with good rpirifr, and with the assistance of exporters., last week's rates were maintained, the best crosubred wothera being particularly firm. The market was topped by a wonderfullyheavyand well conditioned pen of crossbred wethers, frorn'Myears Pearce and Dowling, Rakaia, which wero bought at the high, but not dear price of 163 6d, by Mr J. Li. Rosewarne. the ewce of the same draft selling at 10s 61. The store sheep offered wore not a very good lot, the exceptions being a line of Isrgn framed croßfcbred lambs, which sold at 4s Oi, and seme nvxed 2-tootb crossbredo at ss. The demand for fairly conditioned young croasbreds showed a little improvement. The following are the principal Bales : —194 crossbred ewes, mixed ages, In lamb 5a ; 185 2 and 4 tooth crosnbreds, 3s 6d ; 75 crossbred ewes, 2a 63; 182 crossbred lambp, 2j 3d; 103 do, 2h ; several linos merino ewoa, la 9d to 2* Id ; 300 mixed 2-tooth croesbreds, 5.' ; 109 crossbred lambs, 4s 9 J; 600 do, 2s 6d ; 130 do, 2* 2i. Fat lambs met a dull eale. A prime pen brought Qa, but good lara.bß sold at 3a 6d to 4s 9i ; secondary, 2j 6d to 33 3d. Pias. — The demand for bacon pigs waß rather brisker than on the preceding market day, and as seveial lines of superior quality were offered we again quoto the best park at equivalent to 3d to 3|d per lb, the pigs selling at from 333 to 4§i each. Secondary quality still is regarded with disfavor by curers. Porkers also sold well, at from 17a to 303 eech ; but the few ptorea present brought very low prices.
