MOUNT SOMERS ROAD BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of the Mount Soimrs Road Board was held at Mount Somars on Monday last. Preaent -Messrs Walker (Chairman), Harrison, MoFarlane and Edson. OVBKSKBa's RKFORT. The Overseer's report was read and considered, and tenders were ordered to be called for repairing 4 miles of the Alford Forest and .Ashburton Main road. The Gorge road, near the Deep oreek, and Woolshed oreek was ordered to be repaired. 00RRK8P0NDIN0E. - . Letters were read :—(l) From Government Auditor proposing to audit the Board's books on the 12th or 13th— The Olerkwai ordered to attend —(2) From' Mr Merewether offering to contribute £10 toward work to be done on the Gorge roal near Lake Heron. — It was resolved to accept Mr Merewether's offer.— (3) From Messrs Miles and Co. requesting that Mr Lewis Mo Leigh's name be put on the roll inphcorf W. R. and G. Rhodes. —The Olerlr was ordered to make the alteration, ELECTION. It was resolved that the nomination for the election of retiring members, annual meeting of ratepayers, and the last meeting of the old Board be held on Monday, May 2nd, and a poll if necessary on Siturdry, May 7th. DECLINED. Mr William MoOlimont Interviewed the Board with respect to road leading to Bedlam Bay. Mr McOlimont declining to contribute, it was resolved that the Board could not undertake the work. ' COTTAQES. The Chairman, Mr Walker, was authored to apply for power to sell the Road Board cottage and portion of reserve oovered by house garden and stable. GUARANTEE The Rate Oollaotoc's guarantee polioy was laid on the table. The Chairman was Instructed to deposit the same with the Board's banker PAYMENTS Acoounts amonnting to £117 16s 41 were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned to Monday, May 2nd.
