ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKET.
The Addington market on Monday was very thinly attended. Oattle. — A rather large snpply of fat cattle was yarded, Including soma very Rood steers, a description that has been seldom eean of late. The demand was steady, bat last week's price 3 were barely maintained, npmely, 18i to 10a per 1001 b t: r prime beef, 15s to 17a for middling to fair quality, inferior at very low rates Good steers sold from £6 to £7 10s ; heifers, light weights, £4 to £5 10s Store oattle were only represented by odd lots. There was a rather better erqairy, but the business done was not important. Sheep. — The number of fat sheep forward wss much below the average, and the demand being good, an advanoa was realised on good descriptions of 91 to 1b eaoh; Good crossbred wethers sold from 7a to 8s 6d, a speofal line at 10s ; lighter quality from Era ; good, young ewes, 5s to 7s. Prime mutton was worth l^d perlb, ordinary quality Id, lnferlorfat nomn 1 prices. Fat lambs were again lo*rer, good pens selling at 4 1 to 6s. An exceptionally heavy line brought Bs. Several lines of good stores were penned, and forwardconditioned lines were well oorapeted for. The sales Included 500 9 -tooth half bred wethers at 4s si ; and a small line of 4 and 6-tooth mixed crossbreds at^4s9i; aged cross-bred ewes Is 8i ; breeding orossbred ewes 2s 3d and 2s Bd. Old merlnoes, for btifij ng, sold at Is 3d to Is Bd.
Pigs. —The supply was quite insufficient for the demand, and prices for stores want very high ; indeed, buyers of- porkers had m many cases, to give way to farmers, who took even batchers' qualities for thalr stubbles.
