PRAYING FOR THE BANK OF NEW ZEALAND,
" Oalamo Oarrente " m the Auckland Herald writes :— On the Sunday after the calamity by fire at the Iron and Woodware Factory, Dunedia, tbe Rev Dr Stuart, of that city, made touching reference to the disaster. He prayed for the bereaved ones, and paeeing on to the chief pecuniary sufferers by the fire* he included them. "He did not," aaya a listener, " pray m so many words for the Bank of New Zealand, but it was the next thing to it !" Well might " Olvis " ex claim, " The feel nga of the blushiDg bank at this juncture (if by any of it representatives it chanced to be present) almost defy speculation . Never since the articles of incorporation were drafted has it been prayed for before, and never nntil the hearts of men me changed will it be prayed for again."
