An imtmceof remarkable fidelity on the part of a apanlel-retrlever dog has recently come uuder our notice. A looai resident hjtd been working m the bush on a farm Bom; mi'es out of Feilding, and on Saturday week last he left for town, leaving bis tools behind him, as he intended to return m a few days Tne d-ig always rcc >mpanled its master, and on the latter arriving home, he was surprised to fi.v' the dog m'ssinj;. Seiroh way mncJe, but no trace of the an i mil could be f mod, and tbe conclusion was arrived at that it had either been Bhot or poisoned However on returning to work on the following Taeeday afternoon, the owner was surprised and pleased to 6nd his dog doing " watch and guard " over his tools, fomewhat lees m bulk for hia long fast but non 9 the Jtsa faithful Hlb " sentrygo" had laa'ed nearly four dajß and fou? nights ! — Feilding Star.
