THE MALLABY COMEDY COMPANY
CASTE,
Last night the company appeared in Robertson’s comedy of “ Caste.” There was again a large audience, who were quite as appreciative and demonstrative as on tbe previous evening. Tbe characters of the piece were all well taken, the Folly Ecoles of Miss Florence Wade being particularly good ; while as Esther Eccles, Miss Jennie Gwynne scored a decided success. Miss Marian Medway made tbe moat of the perfrof thacold and austere Marquise. Mr Geo. Melville, as tbe Hon G. D’Alroy, took his part well, and Mr Arthur Rodney carefully depicted the character of Captain Hawtree, a “swell” of the conventional type. As Sam Gemdge Mr Harry Power was inimitable, and left nothing to be desired, and the representation of Eccles, the drunkard, which fell to the lot of Mr Alleyne was a good one in every respect. Tbe company will open in Christabar.it ...is evening.
