INTERPROVINCIAL NEWS.
Wellington, September 1. Enquiries are being made after a tradesman who held a prominent position in a local friendly society. It id supposed he has gone to Kimberley, as he is said to have been seen partly disguised on the barquentine May which sailed on Tuesday, and a private meeting of the officers of Iho society to which he belonged was held last night to enquire into matters connected with his disappearance. No information has, however, been laid with the police.
