The Canterbvuy Acclimatisation Society to-day decided t.y open the fishing season on October 16. A deputation from the Society interviewed the Premier to day, and protested agdnst any farther dismemberment of their district, such r s is suggested by tne establishment of a separate Society a. Ashburton, without their first being first consulted in the matter. Sir B. Stout considered the request reesonable, and promised to attend to the matter.
