AS BBURTON —TO- D AY. [Before Mr H. 0. S. Baddeley, R.M.] DaUNKENNESS. 1 John Morrell, for having been drunk and disorderly, was fined 20s and costa, with the alternative of -48 hoars Imprisonment with hard labor.
CIVIL CASTS. Eoh t Ede, claim £5 12s,—Casa adjourned for a week. Official Assignee v Betts, claim £6 Is.— Mr Crisp, instructed by Mr Purnell, for plaintiff.—The defendant admitted the claim, but said ho had a set-off in the shape of money due to him by the bankrupt estate of Bruce,—The set-off, however, had not been filed, and the Magistrate said it would be a matter for the Assignee and the defendant to arrange between themselves. Judgment for plaintiff for amount claimed and coats. Official Assignee v Osborne, claim £4 13s 41. Mr Crisp for plaintiff-Judg-mem by default for the amount claimed and coats.

J Bruce said some time dtfo ho became bankrupt at Rakaia, Ho hsd done some work fcr Serrle —Some lofttier evidence was taken, »nd the case was adjourned for a fortnight to Rakaia, The Court then rose.
