Melbourne. July 20. The annual report of the Postal • epartmect states that the sixpenny telegrams have entailed a considerable loss of revenue- It is not Intended to adopt the penny postal system. The employes of the clothing factories are strongly protesting against the proposal to place a duty of 8d per lb weight on imported woollen goods, on the ground thot it will destroy the clothing trade. News has arrived a* C< oktown by steamer of a case of piracy and murder in Acheeu. The Dntoh Steamer Hok Canton was anchored at Rigss, when a large B imbetjof AcheQ #;e collected on hoard <fc® steamer, rushed on the capt» n, and seriously wounded him and his wife, and shot the ma'e and engineer dead. They then rifled the vessel of a large sum of money, which was aboard for trading purposes. Captain Hansen and Mrs Hansen were taken ashore, were the former died of his wounds. Six of the crew were also seized, and the pirate chief, Tanker Omar, demands a ransom of 50,000 dollars. A body of Dutch troops has left for the purpose of rescuing the prisoners.
