At a meeting of the Directors of the Gear Meat Co. it was decided to declare a dividend at the rate of 10 per cent, at the annual meeting. The Property Tax. The property tax collected yesterday at the Head Office and Post Offices through- . out the colony amounted to about L 30,009.
Civil Servants Regulation. . A fresh circular has been issued respecting civil servants taking part in trading companies. This circular allows any of the Government servants to take part at any meeting of a company at which their interests are at slake. By this any of the officers can take part in the proceedings at meetings, providing it does not interfere with his official duties. Proposed Railway Freight Redactions. It is notified that a gazette will be published in a few days with a revised tariff of the railway charges, and the principal alterations are in the direction of fostering looal manufactures and aiding local industries. Where the rail traffic is opposed by road traffic redactions have been made which will largely inctea&e the quantity of goods carried by the railway.
