A DISGRACFUL ACTION.
Mr Allan McDouild, M. EL R. for the East Coast, was a pissenger from 4ookland on Tuesday by the mail steamer for San Francisco, and it is stated whilst on board the vessel he declared he had with* held his resignation simply in order“to spite his constituents,” and he “' would see them d d first before he would. resign.” At any rate he has gone. On Tuesday night the Speaker of the Hease t Sir G. M. O’Rorke, had not received McDonald’s resignation. r Great indignation is expressed at Gisborne at the conduct of Mr MoDonil|, at the district most be unrepresented part, if not all, of the session, and it has several local Bills on hand. He bad promised explicitly to resign in time for another to be elected before the session. [BT TKLEORAFH.] Welu.mjtoh, To-day. A private telegram received from Auckland this morning states that Mr Allan McDonald, M. H.R , has left his resignation as a member with his solicitor, to b* bonded to the Speaker after hie departure. Auckland, To-day. Mr McDonald left bis resignation: a# a member of the house in the hands of his solicitor, Mr Alfred Whitaker.
