W, Griffiths for Brisbane North. A Search for the Informers. Adelaide, Yesterday. The steamship Pathan arrived here to-day, and on entering port was boarded by the South Australian police. The latter believe that four of the passengers are the “ Invincibles,” Kavanagh, Smith, Murphy, and Kelly, but find it impossible to identify them. The Captain of the Pathan doubts the truth of the allegation. [Received August 1, 1 p.m.] The Tasmanian Budget. Bobart, To-day. The Colonial Treasurer made his Budget Statement last night.. He estimates the revenue for the current financial year at 1.563,000, and the expenditure at 1.5x9,000. The surplus will be applied to the remission of 3s per cwt on sugar, 3d per lb on tea, and the abolition of the duty on machinery. A new loan of a million is to be raised for public works.
