[PKK PRESS ASSOCIATION.] A Libel Case. Gisborne, To-day. Mr Kenneth Kerr, proprietor of Facts, and Mr Webb, the printer, were to-day charged at the R.M- Court on the information of Mr C. A. DeLautour, M. H.R., the former for publishing and the latter for printing statements in Facts reflecting on the commercial character and integrity of the informant. The defendants did not appear, neither were they represented by counsel. the case being called on, Mr Kennedy, defendants’ counsel, had informed his Worship that he had no right to issue the summons on an information laid in Wellington. The R.M. said the point was open to argument. Mr Rees, for the complainant, applied for a warrant for the arrest of the defendants, but this the Magistrate declined to accede to, preferring to first consult the Crown law officers, and consequently adjourned matters till Thursday Prospecting Licenses. Cn isTCHUf.cn. To-day. At the Waste Lands Board this morning 28 applications for licenses for prospecting for diamonds in the Alford Forest district were made.
