[rEUTEr’s TELEGRAMS —COPYRIGHT.] Cricket. Sydney, Saturday. In the cricket match the Englishmen in their first innings lost one wicket for 181. Leslie being not out 108, Barlow not out 60. They are still at the. wickets, and both are batting splendidly. Both players made a splendid stand, and runs were rapidly scored. Leslie was finally caught when he had put together 144, and Barlow followed with 80 (bowled). Mr C. T. Studd was bowled for 23, and Bates was caught and bowled for 30. There are now five wickets down, and the score stands at 283, as against 152 scored by the local men in their first innings. At the close of the day’s play the English Eleven had scored 441 for the loss of eight wickets. The following are the remainder of the scores ;~Mr W, W. Read, c and b, 46 ; Mr Steel, b, 52 ; Mr Tylecote, b, 26; Mr Vernon, not out, 11; Barnes, notout, 6; extras, ' 16; total for eight wickets, 441. Parliament,

In the elections for the Legislative Assembly now proceeding, the Hon. F. B. Sutter, Minister for Education and Mr Garrett were returned, Messrs W. J. Foster, John Davies, and J. S. Purnell being rejected. Flour, Wheat, and Freights. Adelaide, Saturday. Wheat is quoted at 4s 4d, but the market is dull and there is nothing doing.
