The revenue for the year ended 30th June amounted to L 2,100,000, an increase 0fL.331,000 compared with the pre vious year. The following increases are shown by the returns : —Customs, Li 19,000; land revenue, Li 2,000 rents, L 44,000; railways, L 83,000

and telegraphs, 1.25,000. International Ploughing Match. Melbourne, Yesterday. The entries for the grand international champion ploughing contest, which takes place on the 26th and 27th inst., under the auspices of the National

Agricultural Society of Victoria, were published to-day. For the single furrow match (first prize L 105) there are fifty-two entries, and for the double furrow match (L 100) thirty entries. All the Australian Colonies will be represented at the contest, including New Zealand, from whence two entries have been received. Another Banquet! Melbourne, To-day.
