[PKK KBUTEK’s AGENCY.] Parliamentary. Melbourne, Yesterday. The Legislative Assembly met again to-day. During the proceedings of the day, Mr Francis rose to move his amendment regarding the remission of taxation proposed by the Government. The Speaker, however, ruled that the motion was out of order, and it was thereupon withdrawn, and Mr Francis has expressed his intention of bringing his motion again betore the House in Committee of Ways and Means. Further Prorogued. Sydney, Yesterday. The New South Wales Parliament has been further prorogued to August 22 nd. Wrecked. Telegrams have been received here reporting that the barque Dirigo, 695 tons, which left Sydney on May 7th, with a cargo of coal for Shanghai, has been werelced near that port. From Auckland. Sydney, To-day. Arrived, last evening—Union Company’s steamship Arawata, from Auckland. Compensation. In the action brought by Messrs Goo diet and Smith against Government, claiming Lr 68,000 for land reclaimed in Darling Harbor for railway works, a verdict has been returned for plaintiffs for LSy.yid, compensation. At Home. Albany, Yesterday. The P. and O. steamer Sutlej, with the inward mails via Suez and Brindisi, dated London, May 19, arrived in King George’s Sound to-day. Want of Wheat. Adelaide, Yesterday. It is expected that some of the largest flour mills in this colony will shortly be completely stopped for want of wheat. The farmers, it is stated, hold large stocks, but are unwilling to sell at present prices, and is understood that wheat is being shipped from California to Adelaide.
