[per reuter’s agency.] Attempt to Upset a Train. Sydney, To-day. A dastardly attempt was made last night to overthrow a train on the Campbelltown line, by placing logs on the rails. The obstruction was fortunately discovered in time to avert an accident. Tne perpetrators of the outrage are not yet discovered. Hero. Sailed, this afternoon Hero, s.s., for Wellington. The Insurance Frauds. Adelaide, To-day. In the insurance conspiracy case the prisoners Barker, Horton, and Morrison, who were recently found guilty, have been sentenced to the following terms of imprisonment :—Barker, four years ; Horton, two years ; and Morrison, one year.
