Auckland, To-day, The jury found Plummer guilty of sending a threatening letter to Dr demanding money, and sentence was deferred uutil af the hearing of the next case. [Native Land Court. i Thames, To-day. The Nath e Lands Court opens to-day, Mr J. Sheeihan, M.H.R., conducting the cases.

Address. The presentation of an address to Mr H. Mcllbone, took place last night by the Hibernian Society. Election Appeals- , Wellington, To-day. The following election petitions are in the hands of the Chief Justice :—Rutherford v. Sutton (Hawke’s Bay); Hollis v. Allwright (Lyttelton) ; and Cowlishaw V. Pilliet (Stanmore). Coombe’s Estate. Dunedin, To-day. At the adjourned meeting of Ooombe’s creditors, Coombe expressed his willingness to assign the estate to the trustees, and Mr Churton (National Bank), Mr Stronach (New Zealand Loan Company), and Mr Blythe (shipping agent), were appointed trustees to carry on the business in the meantime. Criminal. At the City Court, Arthur Saine was committed for trial for personation. At the Supreme Court, John Strain was sentenced to three years for robbery. John B. Mclntosh, late manager of the Walton Park Coal Company, was sentenced to four years for embezzlement. It was stated that the prisoner had made reparation to the company for his defalcations. John Fleet, for larceny at Oamaru, was acquitted, and the criminal sessions closed.
