[per press association.] Another Fire. Patra, To-day. A six-roomed cottage belonging to Laurence Salmon, a builder at Kakaramea, was accidentally burned last evening. The house was insured for LIOO in the Union, and LSO in the National, and the furniture for LSO in the National. Nothing was saved. Christchurch Exhibition. Christchurch, To-day. At a meeting of the committee appointed to assist Joubert and Twopenny, in connection with the projected National Exhibition, it was reported that the building will be erected somewhat in the form of a Maltese cross, 600 feet long each way, with avenues 45 feet in width. A site for the Exhibition on Papanui road, about one and a half miles from Christchurch has been offered them. The agent for the promoters stated that all the space for England, America, and Europe would be fully occupied, and that thirty applications had already been received for space for New Zealand exhibits.
