JAP CABINET RESIGNS
The Japanese Cabinet has resigned, believed to be the direct result of loss of prestige caused by the landings in Okinawa.
A new Cabinet has been formed with Admiral Sezuki as Premier. Sezuki is a 77-year old relic of the morning glory of the old Imperial Navy.
The appointment is obviously that of a figurehead but it is significant in that it shows the Navy accepting responsibility rather than the Army. It also shows that although Japan has had a bad fright the governing
clique does not yet consider it is time to appoint a civilian Premier who would be expected to be a more acceptable negotiator of peace overtures
