Important Announcements

NOMINATIONS FOR DOMINION OFFICERS Nominations for Dominion Officers have been received by me as follows: President: Miss C. E. Kirk, J.P. Vice-President. Mrs. J. Hiett. Corresponding Secretary: Mrs. H. N. Toomer. Recording Secretary: Mrs. V. Underhill. Assistant Treasurer: Miss J. Atkinson. No nomination has been received for the position of Treasurer. Mrs. J. Hiett who was nominated for President and Miss Kirk for VicePresident, withdrew these nominations owing to ill-health of Mrs. Hiett, and were re-nominated for the above position. I regret that there was not time to advise the Union concerned in regard to the change. R. M. UNDERHILL, Rec. Secretary. * * * * bear Editor, — May I ask for space to make a personal explanation to those Unions who were so kind as to wish to nominate roe for a further term of office, and to whom I wrote declming their offer. At the time I understood that Mrs. Hiett was nominated and that fact, together with private difficulties, made it seem best for me to refuse. Most unfortunately Mrs. Hiett now finds that, for health reasons, she is unable to stand and so. at the eleventh hour (nominations f lose tomorrow) I have accepted nomination. If you have selected someone

else, GOOD. With all my heart I am prepared to supjiort any officers elected. Believe me, Yours for service, C. E. KIRK. * * * * FROM THE YOUTH DIRECTOR I would very much like to hear from tht branches of the W.C.T.U. which have not yet replied. I hope these branches understand that I am not trying to tell them what to do, but rather to help them for the future. J. CHAMBERS. * * * * FOR UNION REPORTERS All Union reports sent in for the December “White Ribbon” will be published if received before November 15th. FROM BROOKLYN “It is true that there is a great deal of profit in the sale of liquor, but I would remind honourable nrembers that the profit made out of the sale of liquor is profit made out of the souls of one’s fellow-men.”—General Botha. “No man ever so’d liquor with God’s permission.”—De Witt Talmage.
