President’s Message
Dear Friends,— As the holiday season is approaching it is >urely a good time to ask ourselves if there is anything more we can give, either material gifts, the gilts of service or the gift of prayer? All these gifts have been showered upon us as the months of 1947 have sped along; have we repaid, with interest? Even in the holiday season there are many opportunties for our work. There are some good, new leaflets in the Literature Department. How would it be if each one of us took a dozen for distribution between November Ist and December 31st ? We cannot shut our eyes to the fact that a great many people, mostly young, and some of them very young, will be strongly tempted to take their first alcoholic drink during the Christmas and New Year festivities. If you and I can dissuade even one from taking that first taste we shall not have spent our time in vain. “Ask in faith, nothing wavering” (James 1:6). With cordial greetings, Yours sincerely, C. E. KIRK.
