NOTES RE WORLD'S W.C.T.U. CONVENTION

The Seventeenth Convention of the World’s Woman’s Christian Temperance Union will be held June sth to 10th, 1947, in Convention Hall, Asbury Park, New Jersey, U.S.A. The Sixteenth Convention was held in Washington, D.C., in 1937, but on account of war conditions no convention could be held since. It is marvellous the ' a> the V\ i .1.1. hit carried <>n in » midst of the tragedies of war and during these years correspondence ha* been maintained with thirty-one countries.

The National W.C.T.U. of the United States will he the hostess for the convention, with Mrs. I). Leigh Colvin as chairman. Notwithstanding the difficulties in securing transportation at the present time, we have already heard from many countries that they will be represented by delegates. A large delegation from Canada is already planning to be present. England, Scotland. Ulster, Sweden, Egypt, Palestine, Iraq, India. Malaya, China, Australia and New Zealand have already notified ti* that delegates have been appointed. Many other lands are also sending delegates.

The convention will open with an Evangelistic Meeting on the afternoon of June sth, and in the evening a GetAcquainted Meeting will give all an opportunity to meet the delegates from many lands. The convention will close on Tuesday night. Executive Committee Meetings will be held on June 4th and 11 tli. Details of the programme will he announced later. \\ bile the W.C.T.U.
