At North Brighton’s meeting on July 6th, Roll Call was answered w-ith Scripture verse. Memorial Day observed with suitable hymns and talk by Mrs. Noonan, President, on "Ptoneeis of the Union.” Reports of Executive Prayer meeting, and Mental Hospital visiting were given. At the August meeting there were 16 adults and three children present for a "j>|»ecial” afternoon.
SOUTH CANTERBURY DISTRICT Timaru Union met August 25th, Mrs. DcnM in presiding and Mr>«. Prattley leading Devotions. Mrs. R«>ss, a valuable member for many years, was farewelled, members shaking in most eulogistic terms. Letters of sympathy sent to Miss Fyfe, and Mrs. Cave, in her indi s posit ion. Reports were given on the Alliance annual meeting bv Mrs. Howe, and visits paid to Ashburton and Roseweil Institute on liehalf of the Seamen's Rest. Generous donations for the "Rest" were received at both meetings. Wit to Highfield P.W.M.U. planned for October. OTAGO DISTRICT South Dunedin, August 22nd, was presided over hy Mr*. Rippin. Mrs. Smith led Devotions. £4/17/- reported as result of July sale. Mis. Winn presided at the September meeting at Oamaru, and led Devotion Delegations from othei Women's organisations were welcomed. After an addtrss by the *Rev. Mr. Stewart, for which thanks were accorded, a mutual programme was enjoyed, and aupfier was served. Port Chalmers, Augu.-t 21st. Meeting held at the home of Mis. Edwards. 12 members present. Mrs. Ia) lor extended a vote of thanks to Mrs. Donaldson and the meeting closed with the Benediction by Rev. Chambers. Afternoon tea.
