Loony Bust
I would like to point out an error made by Stuart Broughton in last month’s RipltUp Letters column.
The person he identified as me, Louise Hunter, in the Supergroove photo published in issue 208, was in fact Stuart after all. You can just make him out between the inflatable plastic llama and zany TV presenter Belinda Todd.
I have it on good authority that Stuart has only recently been released back into the community, and that visual hallucinations are an inevitable side-effect caused by his medication. This explains his inability to identify himself in photos.
His memory, however, is also suspect. I never played drums for Supergroove, or managed them. I think I babysat one of them once though, a long, longtime ago.
I hope this clears up Stuart’s confusion. Maybe we can have a laugh about it down at Squid sometime. I remember him telling me he owns it. And Rainbow’s End. And the Auckland Harbour Bridge.
Hmm. Maybe I’ll just send him some flowers and a get-well card. Yours insincerely (sic),
Louise Hunter, Benny Levin Promotions Limited, Auckland.
