2ZB Observes Two Anniversaries
JN conformity with its policy af adding as many topical touckes as possible to programmes, the NCBS pays particular attention to anniversaries, with the result that hardly a week passes without an anniversary programme of some sort. Special musical programmes are usually broadcast from each station. Last Saturday, November 19, was the anniversary cf the unveiling of the Gettysburg Memorial by Abraham Lincoln, and a feature of 2ZB’s commemoration was the delivery by Kingi Tahiwi of Lincoln’s famous oration. This Thursday, November 24, is another anniversary which is carefully remembered by Americans. It is Thanksgiving Day (always associated in the U.S. with turkeys and cranberry sauce) and again 2ZB is broadcasting a special programme,
