"Not Chewable" A Characteristic of Professor Shelley
"TT!HE Canterbury Repertory Society is a concrete example of Professor Shelley's keenness for art and culture. Christchurch is not going to lose him, merely to share him with the rest of New Zealand," said Mr. Norton Francis when the Director of Broadcasting was’ farewelled by Rotarians last week. "Broadcasting in New Zealand will be put on a much _ higher ‘plane. Whether he is a Government.servant or not, if he gets an idea, nothing will change. it,"* Mr. Francis added. ‘I hope the Minister with authority over him will be easy with him, or he may find he has bitten off more than he can chew!" concluded the speaker. .
