United: Artists Secure Valuable Services UNITED ARTISTS (AUSTRALASIA), LIMITED, have received cable advice from their New Y¥ork ofice that Mr. A. Litchman has been made president in place of Mr. Joseph M. Schenck, who has resigned. Mr. David O. Selznick, ‘the foremost producer for the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Corporation, has joined the United Artists team, and is to produce six pictures for the coming season. Among’ David Selznick’s outstanding productions have. been "Dinner at Hight," "David Copperfield," "Tale of Two Cities" and "Anna Karenina.’ The announcement of the changeover has caused rather a sensation in the: film industry in America, and his alliance with United Artists is expected to maintain that distributing company’s prominent position in the trade. Other production activities under the United Artists’ banner for the coming year include six pictures from Samuel Goldwyn: Merle Oberon in ‘The Dark Angel," Miriam Hopkins in "Barbary Coast," "Splendour," Hddie Cantor in "Dreamland," also "Goldwyn. .Follies" and "Navy Born."
