"Maid of The Mountains" Wanted on the Air

To the Editor ; Sir,-For the past few months the New Zealand Broadcasting Board’s main stations have been broadcasting at regular intervals recorded presentations of Gilbert and Sullivan’s main operas and operatic gems. I write to tell you that I appreciate these programmes very much, and that all my friends do also, In addition, I wish to state that the fine way in which the main announcer at 1YA describes and tells the plots of these operas for the benefit of listeners who have not seen or read them has much to commend itself, I wish to ask that at some future time the YA and auxiliary stations be enabled to broadcast a presentation of that excellent musical comedy, "The Maid of the Mountains." .We often hear selections from this,*but I am sure that al] music lovers will enjoy listening to the whole opera.-TI am, ete,
