A Word of Praise for the Children's Hour
To the Editor. Sir-tIt is an axiom that people who are pleased with anything seldom bother to express their appreciation, but those who are dissatisfied soon rush into print about it. ; In view, therefore, of the very uncomplimentary letters that have appeared lately concerning 2YA’s Children’s Hour, I desire to say a word or two in: commendation of the station. To my mind, and those of all my friends, and what is more important, of the many children whose comments I have heard, the general run of programmes put over at the children’s session at 2YA is excellent, and provides endless amusement. I think the aunts. and uncles responsible for these programmes are to be highly congratulated, not only on the material provided, but also because of the entertaining way in which the items are put across. I would like to mention especially two recent programmes describing a trip on a New Zealand railway engine, and the steamer Maui Pomare. These tulks Were excellently done, and proved both entertaining and instructive. As for the long list of birthdays, ir is certainly uninteresting to adults, but there can be no doubt that the Kiddies get a tremendous "kick" out of having their names called -J am, ete..
