Presentation to Board’s Accountant
[* the microphone at 2YA had been placed in the head office of the Broadcasting Board at five o’clock on Monday evening of last week listeners would have had the pleasure of hearing the good wishes of the staff being extended to the board’s accountant, Mr. G. J. Brocklehurst, who is shortly to be married. The general manager, Mr, H. ©. I[ands, acted as spokesman on behalf of the staff, and in a few well-chosen words extended its best wishes to Mr. Brocklehurst and his future wife. On behalf of the staff, he presented Mr. Brocklehurst ‘ith a set of crystal ware, expressing the hope that when it was called into service it would remind the recipient of the very high egard which was felt for him -by in the employ of the board.. Me, Brocklehurst amitably responded,
The occasion was a unique one, as it marks the first marriage to take place in the broadcasting service since the board assumed contro] in January.
