Each half of the evening’s programme will include a quarter hour’s recital of chamber music by a trio consisting of Madanie Evelyn de Mauny (pianiste), Marjorie Bennie (mezzo-soprano), and Leon de Mauny (violinist). At 9 o’clock a "Surprise Item" will be broadcast. Christchurch Notes * THN minutes’ talk on the work of the Empire Service League will be given by Mrs. EB. R. Hotchkin. At 7.80 the W.l.A. Session will begin, when the Rey. Hubert Jones, Mus.Bach., ‘will give the last of his series of lectarettes on "Music." The Christchurch Citadel Band, conducted by Mr. N. G. Goffin, will provide the evening programme, the items comprising many not usually heard over the air. The supporting programme will feature that popular baritone, Rex. Harrison, in a recital of four gongs,
From Dunedin H{BRALDING the "Come to Dunedin Week," which will be marked by festivities and celebrations the following week, Mr. W. B. Steel will give a talk. The concert programme will consist of recordings, including a male quartet singing excerpts from "Lilac Time," a Vienna male voice choir, and two duets of the popular type sung by Hddie and Rex. . "At 9 o’eclock Dr. ©. M. Focken will give a talk on "The Cosmic Ray and its Relation to the Universe."
