Winter Tonics THE home science talk from 1YA, 2¥YA and 3YA, prepared by the Home Science Extension Department of Otago University, will be on "Winter Tonics," Auckland Features HE programme will be given by the Auckland ‘Society of Musicians, whose previous performances at this station have attained a high standard. Instrumental items will be given by a trio consisting of Jean Allen, Marjorie iarks and Margot St. . Lawrence ‘ones, and by Gladys Searell, who will be, heard in pianoforte solos. Barry Coney, the well-known artistic baritone, will yender several numbers, including "Vision Fugitive’ (from Massenet’s "Herodiade") and, with Len Barnes, the duet, "The Lord is a Man of, War," from "Israel of Egypt’ (by Handel). Mr. A. B. Chappell, M.A., will. resume his Topical Talks, which have-always proved so popular and informative. Ttems from Wellington T 7.40 p.m. Mr. Johannes Andersen will continue his series of lectures on "Maori Folk Lore"
The station will relay from the Blue Triangle Hall a concert to be given by. the Orpheus Musical Society, under the direction of Mr. Harison Cook. This will take the form of the presentation of two small cantatas, "Tubalkain" (by Dunhill) and "The Coffee Cantata" (by Bach). The soloists will be Jeanette Briggs (soprano), Ray Kemp (baritone) and Roy Hill (tenor). Instrumental solos will. be given by Claude Tanner ‘(cellist). Selections from 3YA ‘HE lecturer for the international programme will be Mr. L. R. R. Denny, M.A., F.R.H.S., of Christchurch Technical College. He will speak on "Java," on which island Mr. Denny spent some time last year. He also attended the Students’ International Conference in Geneva,
