Geo. B. Briggs, Morere, H.B., NZ26W. 5/8/31. Heard EAQ, Madrid, say: "A lot of foreign newspapers have been pub-
lishing news which is not true. Everything in Spain is alright, quite alright. We are all working and things are alright. Thank you, everybody, good-night and good morning, there." Also 8/8/31, after music and singing HAQ announced: "Here are some bullfight one-steps" ; then records, after which he announced: "We make this a special programme, as some amateurs asked for it. I cannot stay here for long time, as it ma-es it too late for me; I have much wo k to do." On the Sunday I heard native music at Rd on 30.5 metres, from 9.30 p.m. (This station was R7 QSA 4, at 12.30 a.m.Sec., N.Z.S.W.C.) O. J. Stevens, NZ76W, Wellington: For three Sundays XMW, Mexico, from 4 to 7 p.m. All announcements are made in Spanish, occasionally English, as follows: "This is station XEW, Mexico, broadeasting simultaneously on long and shortwave, giving’ the position as 329.5 and 50 metres. but the wavelength of the shortwave station is received just below W9XF, on 49.83 metres, Arthur Stevens, NZLW, Wawernr: VRY, 44.6 metres, is now off the air, also KALXR,
