Jottings from Auckland "THE speaker for the international programme at i1YA will be Mrs. Gordon Robertson, who will speak on "The International Outlook in Art and Literature." At 2YA A FEATURE of to-night’s programme will be a sketch entitled Signal" (by Landon). The scene is laid on the bridge of a merchant steamer coming up the Hunglish Channel, in the year 1917. The sketch is being produced by Victor §. Lloyd, who will play the part of the captain. The role of the mate will be taken ‘by Owen Pritchard, and that of the wireless operator by H. A. Painter. The subsidiary characters-the second mate, helmsman, and pilot-will be taken by the Melodie Four. On the supplementary programme the Salon Orchestra, under Mr. M. T’. Dixon, will be heard in several delightful numbers. Items from Christchurch The usual silent day will not be opserved, but from 11.80 will be broadcast-
ing results of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting at Riccarton, A holiday programme will be broadcast in the evening, when the Hilo Harmony: Four, with steel guitars and ukulele, will provide some bright music. Addie Campbell, also a. very popular perforrer, will sing, among other numbers, "Indian Love Call" (from "Rose Marie"). Clive Hindle, who always broadcasts well, will sing three popular baritone songs. There will be supporting numbers from popular artists. Dunedin Jottings "Ladies’ Night" is the title of a concert to be given in the Tudor Hall, by, the Dunedin Orphans’ Club, and broad-y east. The first part of the programm will be given by well-known Orphans, and a string quintet. The second part will be given by a pierrot party. The president of the club is Orphan E. Harnshaw, the conductor of the orchestra Orphan E. Kerr, and the pianist Orphan T. J. Kirk-Burnnand.
