Selections from 2YA ‘THE weekly "Musical Portrait" series will take the form of 2 programme of classical dances, to be presented by Gladys Watikins (pian-
iste) and Nantie Holloway (violinist) playing Edward German’s "Saltrelle," a "Menuett" by Mozart and Papini’s fascinating "Tarantella." Gladys Watkins will also play "Rigaudon" and "Les Cherubins." Included in the programme will be a talk on "The Musie of Shakespeare," by Mr. C. N. Baeyertz, of Sydney, who will be in Wellington as adjudicator for the elocutionary section of the Wel: lington Competitions. . ‘ $8YA Items N furtherance of the campaign in the interests of the New Zealand Native Birds’ Protection Society, a talk will be broadcast at 3.30 p.m. The Woolston Brass Band, under Mr. R. J. Hstall, will provide a programme. The assisting vocalists will include Mrs. Winifred Andrews, the — wellknown Wellington mezzo-contralto, and Jack Blair, singing at the piano. An interesting item on the programme will be a talk by Mr. Bi. Iveagh Lord, who will entertain listeners with "Reminiscences of Harly Riccarton," nowadays a household word with all followers of the sport of kings. Notes from Dunedin "THE speaker for the 4YA International Programme at 4YA will be Mr. A. J. Woods, M.A., Lecturer in History at Dunedin Training College, who will take as his subject "Some His- torie Aspects of Internationalism."
