An Unconscious Intruder
THE story is related of how a tele phone linesman ‘became an impromptu ‘announcer ‘far out on the plains of Texas. The linesman scaled a telephone pole to repair a wire. Fle tapped a line, intending to ‘communicate with his home office. He listened over his attachable telephone a minute, then yelled in amazement to his foreman on the ground: . _ "Great Gosh! There's music on this darn line." Unknowingly, the linesman had tap+ ped the wire carrying National Broadcasting Company programmes to its south-western network, and his exclame _ations.were broadcast far and. wide.
