-_-- Broadcast Description of Arrival ON April 29, at 10,50 a.m., the first All-the-way-by-Air Royal -Mail reached Sydney after a thrilling jour: ney from London, in which the mochine carrying the mail crashed at Koepang. The crew, fortunately, were unhurt, and the mail was saved. AirCommodore Kingsford Smith, in his trusty plane, Southern Cross, flew from Sydney to Koepang to collect the mail, which, although a few days later than the scheduled time of arrival, wes still many days ahead of the dinary mail shipped from overseas at the same time. . The Australian Broadcasting Com- , pany, through both New South Wales stations, 2FC and 2BL, broadcast the description of the arrival of the air mail at Mascot, and thus listeners were given an opportunity of participating in the ceremony of the landing of the first Royal Mail aeroplane in Sydney. and the speeding to Melbourne’ ten minutes later of the Southern Star, under Pilot Mollison, with the air mail for Victoria, South Australia and West Australia. =~ ---
