male alto, late of the Westminster Glee Singers, Mr. Frank Campbell, tenor, possessing one of the finest broadcasting voices heard in Auckland, . Mr. Arthur Gally (baritone), a very fine singer, and Mr. Sid Hislop (bass, whose appearances before the microphone and elsewhere have always been success-ful)-will: be heard in solos and quartets. For enjoyable concerted singing there is very little to equal male part voices, and 1YA is very fortunate in obtaining the services of such a fine con.bination. Items from 2YA "THE Wellington Artillery Band, un- ~ der the conductorship of Captain T. Herd, V.D., will give an excellent studio concert. The band items are of a varied and interesting nature. The Ariel-. Singers, -already well known to 2YA audiences, will be heard in. a number of quartets, duets, and solos. Featured on the programme will be Miss Lilian Frith (mezzo-so-prano), a visitor to Wellington, who has recently returned from Australia. During the time spent there she appeared with great suecess at 2FC and 2BL, Sydney. Her items will include two Maori songs. This will be her final appearance before her departure for other lands. t,t

Notes from Christchurch A REVIEW of the January issue of the Journal of Agriculture will be broadcast at 7.80 p.m. The operatic-classical programme will be of a popular nature. The vocal quartets, duets, and solos will include such favourites as Mendelssohn’s "Spring Song," "Sink, Red Sun," "From Rushy Beds of _ Silver Nile,’ "Lend Me Your Aid," "On with the Motley," "Within those Sacred Bowers" and "Sainted Mother" (from ‘"Maritana’). Miss ‘Thelma Cusack (violiniste), Mr. A. BE. Hutton (flautist) and the Studio Octet will provide the instrumental portion of an attractive programme.
