Broadcast by 1YA R. KENNETH MacCORMICK, speaking under the auspices of the British Empire Cancer Campaign Committee, will broadcast at 7.40 a talk on "Cancer." ' The whole of the evening’s programme will be given by Mr. Coney, one of the foremost musicians of New Zealand, and his company. He has been heard from one end of the Dominion to the other as a baritone soloist at concerts given by all the leading choral societies, and he has adjudicated at many competitions. Smith, B.A., Technical Wditor of the "Radio Record," will give the second of a series of talks on radio, taking for his subject "fhe Radio Receiver." "The concert will feature the Etude Quartet in vocal gems from the musical comedy "High Jinks." The orchestrina under Signor A. P. Truda will play supporting numbers. An interesting feature on to-night’s programmes will be two . original musical numbers, "After Sunset"-a very tuneful waltz, has been written for an orchestra by Mr. Claude Tanner, one of New Zealand’s leading *cellists, who plays for the orchestrina. The other item is a solo p'anoforte number, composed and played by Mr. Ernest Sharp. This also is a waltz. 3YA Topics HIS evening will see the first appearance of the Lichfield Male Voice Choir, a quartet which should delight all ears. The personnel is Messrs. H. .J. Francis, G. T. Ritchie, P. Caithness, and W. Cotton. ‘They will include quartets, duets, and solo numbers on their programme. Also on the pro-

gramme will be Mrs. D. W. Stallard (contralto), singing old favourites, Miss Gwen Webster, a blind musician who is frequently heard at the children’s sessions, will contribute mandolin guitar items, while ’cello solos will be played by Mr. Harold Beck. Dunedin Broadcast: ISS BUCCLEUGH’S weekly talk on "Fashions" will be broadcast at 3.15. The Winkel-Lampen Radio Players, assisted by two of the finest sketch artists available in Dunedin, will present. two half-hour plays, namely; "The Grand. Cham’s Diamond" (by Monkhouse), and "Followers" (by Brighthouse). The Studio Trio will provide all the instrumental music on the programme, and Olga Wynne will present three exceptionally fine classical solos.
